I want the experience for you, your dog, officials and volunteers to be uplifting, safe and fun! I deeply believe hosts have the ability to set a tone that touches everyone in attendance.
My goal is to create a space where all dogs can perform to the best of their abilities. I strive to make the flow relaxing and give you the space to prepare without worrying about other dogs, rushing or worrying about where you are going. Volunteers are instructed to read the room! While some of you might enjoy visiting and letting your dog greet others, many of you want to spend time connecting, loving and playing with your dog. You should be comfortable doing what works for you.
I’m always trying to remind contestants that this is not life or death! There’s an expectation that we treat everyone with kindness, dogs and humans. Not only should we be kind and respectful but we should strive to enjoy the experience! Little reminders are posted around the trial site to help keep that vibe going for everyone.
Volunteers are valued and treasured. Without people giving of their time, there’s no way we can have trials. Each trial I give out thank you gifts and try to create an environment that encourages people to volunteer again while also helping them to learn more about K9 Nose Work.
And remember, Montana is amazing!
